Atomic Heart is an FPS set in a retrofuturistic version of the Soviet Union. In Atomic Heart, players take on the role of a secret agent tasked with investigating a secret facility where a machine uprising has occurred. The goal is to restore order before a global catastrophe ensues.

The game presents an alternate history. In the 1940s, the Soviet Union experienced a significant boom in robotics, thanks to the discoveries of the talented Dmitry Sechenov. As part of the Facility 3826 project, machines were constructed and controlled by a neural network called Kollektiv 1.0. These robots replaced humans in many jobs, accelerating urban development and improving living conditions for citizens. Subsequently, Sechenov worked on an interface known as Thought, which was intended to allow humans to connect with the Kollektiv system. Officially, this interface would enable humans to control robots with their minds and provide instant access to information. In this dystopian setting, players explore the facility, battling rogue machines and uncovering the secrets behind the uprising. The game combines elements of action, exploration, and puzzle-solving, immersing players in a richly detailed, alternate Soviet universe. The narrative delves into themes of technology, control, and the potential consequences of unchecked scientific advancement.
