Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered: is set between the events of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed III. The story takes place in the latter half of the 18th century, during the Seven Years' War. The main protagonist is Shay Patrick Cormac, a member of the Assassin Brotherhood who becomes disillusioned with their philosophy. Ultimately, Shay decides to switch sides and join the Templars, beginning a hunt for his former comrades.

Notable characters from previous installments in the series make appearances, including Haytham Kenway and Achilles Davenport. The game's world includes locations such as New York, the North American River Valley, and the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, with occasional visits to other parts of the world. The core of the game revolves around completing story missions, complemented by a variety of side quests. Optional activities include capturing high vantage points (which Shay ascends in a skillful, parkour-style manner to reveal parts of the map) and collecting numerous collectibles.

The remastered edition features enhanced graphics, including improved textures and lighting effects, as well as support for higher resolutions and frame rates. These upgrades provide a more immersive and visually appealing experience, while the core gameplay and storyline remain faithful to the original.
