Assassin's Creed: Valhalla takes place in 9th-century Northern Europe. Players assume the role of Eivor, the leader of a Viking clan. Interestingly, you can choose either a male or female version of Eivor, or let the Animus switch between the two at specific points (this is the canonical option). Leaving behind war-torn Norway and crossing the North Sea, Eivor and their followers reach the shores of England. However, this resource-rich land is embroiled in a bloody struggle for power, and Eivor’s clan catches the attention of Alfred the Great of Wessex. Alfred not only claims to be the rightful ruler of England but also condemns the pagan Vikings.

To make England their new home and secure a place in Valhalla, Eivor and their warriors must fight and form alliances. The fate of Eivor and the clan depends on the alliances you forge and the dialogue choices you make. At the start of the game, you can customize Eivor's appearance, including their hairstyle, tattoos, war paint, and equipment. 

Gameplay in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The game features story-driven quests (divided into chapters lasting 2-3 hours) along with numerous side missions and activities. Your decisions often impact the future of Eivor and their clan. Additionally, you can conduct raids on resource-rich territories, expanding your influence and gathering materials needed to develop your settlement.
