Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood is a sequel to the 2006 western shooter developed by studio Techland. Like the first installment, the action takes place in the Wild West. In Bound In Blood, we explore the youth of the McCall brothers – Ray, known from the original, and his brother Thomas.

The story is set during the Civil War, with the brothers entrenched in Georgia, fighting for the Confederacy. Initially, their task is to repel the attacks of General Sherman's forces. However, their priorities quickly shift when Sherman employs a scorched-earth tactic. If Sherman reaches the McCall farm, it would mean the destruction of their property and the death of their relatives. The Confederate army is uninterested in the McCalls' plight, forcing the brothers to find their own solution, leading them to desert.

Most missions allow players to control either brother, offering different gameplay styles. Ray excels in close combat, using dual revolvers and dynamite, while Thomas prefers medium-range engagements with rifles and can use a lasso to access rooftops. This dual-character system provides varied and dynamic approaches to completing objectives, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
