Devil May Cry 5 is the next installment in the famous slasher series that follows the adventures of Dante, a half-human, half-demon warrior fighting against various monstrous creatures. Set after the events of Devil May Cry 2, the game offers three playable characters: Dante, Nero, and a mysterious figure known as V.

Devil May Cry 5 serves as a direct continuation of Devil May Cry 4. The story follows Dante and Nero, along with the enigmatic V, as they battle against demons and other monsters that invade our world. The narrative kicks off in Red Grave City, where an unnatural, colossal tree emerges, with its roots bursting from the ground and draining the blood of the city's inhabitants.

The gameplay in Devil May Cry 5 stays true to the series' core mechanics, featuring a robust combat system. The game is divided into stages, with players receiving a ranking at the end of each one based on their performance. The development team drew inspiration from Dragon's Dogma when designing the game's world. Although Devil May Cry 5 is not a traditional open-world game, the maps offer more freedom than in previous installments. To accommodate this, character movement outside of combat has been improved, making exploration more dynamic and reminiscent of the Bayonetta series, without the limitation of a stamina bar. Despite the game's numerous spectacular moments, it notably avoids relying on Quick Time Events (QTEs) to deliver its cinematic action.
